Welcome to Camp Gan Shalom!

We are a fun place for Jewish kids from all over the greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys to come together in play, laughter, and learning. Our unique program combines the fun of traditional camp activities with immersion in Jewish themes and culture to help campers forge lasting friendships and memories.

Our program meets five days per week for a total of eight one-week sessions: six in Pasadena and two in Pomona. Regular camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Before and after camp care are also available).

If you have any questions, send us an email to ganshalom@jewishsgpv.org.

Kehillah (K-5th)

Kehilla is our in-person camp program for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade.

In Hebrew, kehilla means “community.”  This program focuses on building a robust Jewish community through old-fashioned camp fun in a healthy and safe environment. With traditional camp activities like competitive sports, arts and crafts, and cooking, campers spend their summer having fun with other Jewish kids and building connections to last a lifetime. Each day is packed full of activities that campers can choose based on their interests. We will also take weekly field trips to places like water parks, beaches, and state parks and even experience special Friday theme days!

Manheegim (6th-8th)

The Manheegim (leaders) program offers older campers a unique and exciting opportunity to develop as young leaders. Each day, except for Friday, participants go on a field trip to a new location, event, or program (depending upon public health regulations and guidelines in effect). Campers practice exercising leadership by choosing how to engage with these experiences and with each other. Additional activities include participating in games, doing team-building exercises, and creating and implementing programming for our younger campers on Fridays.

CIT (9th - 10th)

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program for campers entering 9th through 10th grade.

Young high schoolers interested in working with kids and developing mentorship and work-related skills are invited to apply for this program. In addition to assisting our counselors in running programs and activities for our Kehilla campers, our CITs learn experientially about leadership development, communication skills, child development knowledge, lesson planning, teamwork, conflict resolution, and much more! This program is a fantastic opportunity for teens to prepare for the challenges of high school and future careers.

$100 per week

CITs will receive a certificate of volunteer hours to honor the time they spend working with our younger campers.

Space is limited. If you are interested in our CIT program, please download the application form and submit it to ganshalom@jewishsgpv.org
